Let’s learn how to draw Takashi Shirogane from Voltron today!
Takashi “Shiro” Shirogane (銀 貴, Shirogane Takashi) is one of the main characters in the media franchise Voltron. He is a skilled former pilot of legendary reputation from the Galaxy Garrison who was taken captive by the Galra Empire during a mission to Kerberos. He became a famed gladiator known as the Champion in the Empire’s arena. Shiro was the leader of the five Paladins and he piloted the Black Lion of Voltron until he disappeared mysteriously.
Shiro is a tall human male with a Herculean physique. He has pale skin, broad face and a strong jaw, piercing dark gray eyes and a long, straight nose with pink scar. His dark hair is styled in an undercut with short white bangs centered on his forehead. This part of his black hair turned white from the extreme stress. He has donned two types of prosthetic arms to replace his right arm.
Shiro is kind-hearted, grounded, and imbued with a sense of justice to do the right thing, a born leader, naturally adept at calmly commanding his team. Shiro is actually quite kind and sensitive to the struggles and concerns his fellow Paladins are undergoing or may have. Shiro’s skills as a leader are further enhanced by the familial bond he forms with all of his teammates. Shiro is incredibly patient with his teammates’ personalities, though his patience is measured. His experiences as a gladiator and a test subject have left him suffering from a degree of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, known as PTSD.

Step 1
As always all the blue and green lines are just construction lines and will be erased later so do not push on your pencil too much ^_^ I will try to be super efficient with the text so will only describe steps that require some explanation.
Make sure to leave enough free space on paper for next steps. You can see how much space you will need from the size of the paper on this picture.
Step 2
Step 3
Step 4
Step 5
Step 6
Step 7
Step 8
Step 9
Lighten all the construction lines by “stamping” the kneaded eraser on the paper. Make sure to refer to the picture bellow as you need to ink only some parts of the construction lines.
Step 10
Wait till the ink is nice and dry and erase all the construction lines.
Step 11
To add colors, make sure to sketch the color outlines with the right color or pencil first.
If your goal is to become a real Mangaka and design your own manga characters make sure to try to draw Shirogane from memory several times. Always compare the drawing to the original and correct any mistakes you see. Do this till you are happy with the result. It doesn’t have to look exactly the same, don’t sweat the details. The point is that you get the main shapes right and that it looks good. This is the best way to build a huge library of manga shapes in your memory that you can use to draw and design your own manga characters ^_-.
Draw with passion! ^_^
