Let’s learn how to draw Asura from Asura’s Wrath today!
Asura (アスラ) is the main protagonist of the action beat ’em up game Asura’s Wrath. He is a demigod who was once a member of the Eight Guardian Generals, a group of demigods who protect the world from the demonic and destructive Gohma. He was the Guardian General of Wrath, who served the Shinkoku Army and the Emperor to fight against the Gohma. He was the husband of Durga and is father of Mithra. After the battle with the strongest Gohma, Asura is summoned to the palace of Gaia’s emperor, only to find that he’s been killed and Asura was framed for it. Asura’s wife has been killed and his daughter Mithra has been kidnapped by the Guardian Generals, who wish to use her to boost their power. After this revelation, Asura is killed by the leader of the generals, Deus. But even in death, he was filled with an indelible rage that led him back to the world of the living, to get his revenge.
Asura is muscular humanoid with the red markings on his body as well as his eyes and arms, that glow orange when powered up. He has white spiky hair and tanned skin. His white glowing eyes has irises without pupils. Asura wears a torn black hakama trousers with a red flame pattern and a torn golden waist sash. On his legs, he wears unusual golden greaves that also act as sandals, and golden armor vambraces.
Asura is one of the most powerful beings in the universe. His Mantra Affinity is Wrath and it manifests in the form of his golden arms. He is powerful combatant, ruthless, hot-tempered, stubborn warrior. Asura displays both a strong will and an absence of fear and will fight his adversaries relentlessly until he is victorious. However, despite his negative faults, Asura is a good-hearted with a strong moral code and he values the lives of the innocent. Asura dislikes accepting the help of others and prefers to remain self-reliant. His only real motivation was wanting his family to be happy, healthy and safe.
Thanks a lot to Kion Edwards for request. ^_^
Step 1
As always all the blue and green lines are just construction lines and will be erased later so do not push on your pencil too much ^_^ I will try to be super efficient with the text so will only describe steps that require some explanation.
Make sure to leave enough free space on paper for next steps. You can see how much space you will need from the size of the paper on this picture.

Step 3
Step 4
Step 5
Step 6
Step 7
Step 8
Step 9
Lighten all the construction lines by “stamping” the kneaded eraser on the paper. Make sure to refer to the picture bellow as you need to ink only some parts of the construction lines.
Step 10
Wait till the ink is nice and dry and erase all the construction lines.
Step 11
To add colors, make sure to sketch the color outlines with the right color or pencil first.
If your goal is to become a real Mangaka and design your own manga characters make sure to try to draw Asura from memory several times. Always compare the drawing to the original and correct any mistakes you see. Do this till you are happy with the result. It doesn’t have to look exactly the same, don’t sweat the details. The point is that you get the main shapes right and that it looks good. This is the best way to build a huge library of manga shapes in your memory that you can use to draw and design your own manga characters ^_-.
Draw with passion! ^_^
